The Code-Off: A Comparative Analysis of AI-Generated and Student-Written Programs
Does AI truly have the skills of a high school programmer? In this project, this question is put to the test by comparing AI-generated code from AI platforms available to high schooler students to traditional student-written programming approaches. Using the AP Computer Science Principles “Create Task†as the base of comparison, student samples and AI-generated outputs will be collected to run coding comparisons, analyzing quantitative and qualitative factors to assess the quality of generative AI against high school programming curriculum.
