Analysis of Ocean Currents for Stochastic Modeling

Ocean currents are a major source of navigation error in underwater and GPS-denied scenarios. We analyze the spatio-temporal covariance of swath ocean current data and the dependence of ocean current on other factors like surface temperature to inform stochastic error models for maritime navigation systems.
