Data Center Water Usage: USA Data Center Water Usage Analytics Dashboard

The rapid growth of cloud computing and artificial intelligence has led to the expansion of data centers, which consume significant amounts of water for cooling and operational efficiency. This project investigates the relationship between environmental conditions, cooling technologies, and water consumption by developing an end-to-end data pipeline that collects, cleans, integrates, and analyzes publicly available weather, water, and sustainability data. The outcome is an interactive dashboard that provides insights into regional water-use patterns, compares the impacts of different cooling methods, and presents key sustainability metrics to inform data-driven decision-making on data center water consumption and environmental impact. This project will enable the intern gain hands-on experience in data collection, data engineering, exploratory data analysis, and dashboard development in Python, while also developing an understanding of how data analytics can be leveraged to address real-world environmental and sustainability challenges.
