Zika virus is a mosquito-borne illness that was first discovered in 1947, but recent outbreaks (in 2015) affected many South American countries and the 2016 Olympic Games. Human trials of a vaccine recently started in May of 2023, led by the University of Liverpool. Our project’s objective is to add a vaccine component to an existing dynamical systems model to study the impacts of a potential vaccine on the transmission rate to susceptible population.
This project will only appear in the online showcase.
